Negara Brunei Darussalam, a school tour to the Kingdom of Brunei -The Abode of Peace-
Brunei Darussalam is a small, peaceful, prosperous Kingdom situated on the northern coast of the island of Borneo and one of the world's smallest sovereign nations. Although only a small kingdom, over two-thirds of Brunei's land area is pristine tropical rainforest, the preservation and protection of the 80,000 hectares of national parks is of high priority to the government and vast resources are used to protect these natural treasures.
Ruled by his majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muiizzaddin Waddaulah the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Brunei has the oldest reigning monarchy and the only remaining Malay Islamic Monarchy in the world, dating back 600 years. His Majesty is the 29th ruler which began with Sultan Muhammad in 1405.
Brunei is modern and distinctly Asian and offers an insight into life in a kingdom where the people have a great respect for tradition, culture, and reverence for its six centuries-old monarchy with a mutual respect between ruler and subjects.
