Spotlight on Port Stephens

Ever considered Port Stephens for an excursion? We have developed a fun filled itinerary perfect for an end of year treat.  This itinerary was an absolute hit with Melba Copland's high school students in 2014!

Attractions included:

Bowling, Snorkelling, Kayaking / Paddle Boarding, Dolphin Cruise, Movie at the cinemas, Golf, Sand Boarding & The Shark & Ray Centre.

Port Stephens is located about two and half hours north of Sydney and is a blue water paradise. The area lays claim to the title 'Dolphin Capital of Australia'. The bay is home to around 150 bottlenose dolphins, and there are several tour operators in Nelson Bay that offer dolphin-watch trips. These playful aquatic mammals often ride the bow wave just a couple of metres from the vessel. Between May and June, humpback whales cruise past the town on their northern migration, returning south between September and November and these huge animals are often also encountered on the dolphin cruises.

The Stockton Bight sand dunes need to be seen to be believed and offers the great activity of sand-boarding. Port Stephens 4WD Tours is the number one choice for all your dune adventures.

Learn about the coastal environments & fragile eco systems in a National Parks & Wildlife Service Discovery Program, or if you are after a little more excitement and adventure why not try, Surfing, Kayaking or Snorkeling.

It is the complete destination, that does not take long to get to, offers loads of outdoor adventures for school students to experience. We have had nothing but praise from students and teachers alike from our Port Stephens itinerary – the perfect place to take your students as a Gold card / end of year reward.
